The Stoneleigh Kit Car Show 2014

It was nice to see so many working Shelsley T2’s at the Stoneleigh kit car show this year, 4 on the Sunday when we were there and more on Sunday I beleive (although I’m sure someone will correct me!) I only managed a couple of photos and really gave me a boost to get mine back on the road again 🙂 Although there were only 4 cars there, 7 owners including myself managed to turn up. I’ve only got a photo of 3 of them unfortunately – (Sorry Alan)

It was interesting to see the phase 1 chassis vs the phase 2, and Roger with the oldest and least miles dispite getting his SVA’d the first! Only 225 miles!!!! and Michael’s phase 2, one of the last to be built with the most topping out at over 27k – thats one seriously used kit car.

We can only tip our hats at Roger and Alans cars, the quality of workmanship on them is outstanding, shutlines virtually identical on both sides, general fit and finish is amazing. The interior fit out on Rogers car is mind blowing in the amount of detail, the carbon fibre is a nice touch btw! We’ll have to get those doors off and do a “DIY electric windows” article at some point, I know I want them on mine.

The Stoneleigh kit car show was certainly an eye opener, the trends in the current manufacturers and the price jumps between OK and Good quality manufacture was quite evident. It makes our Shelsley’s seem good value now in kit price when compared to the current market! At the time the Shelsley was considered a high build cost car at over some models available.

So, if anyone has any more Shelsley photos from the weekend (including Sunday) then can you send them over to add to the site!
